The Discovery House difference

How it Works

We’re building a combination of a CPD hub and class experience centre. Each day, for a week, a free coach collects a class and their teacher and delivers to Discovery House.

Once they are at the centre, the class is, at first, taught by the expert teacher, which gives their usual teacher time and space to develop and observe (under guidance). The day is structured just like a normal day, continuing their same scheme of learning for that week, but with some different pedagogies and some great activities in the afternoons. Swimming lessons, climbing, nature polytunnels, music, sport.

As the week progresses, the teacher gets to put ideas into practice, developing their approach with their own children and iterating as they go.

The aim is to improve CPD, but also to give the children an incredible experience- there will be a swimming pool, climbing wall, sports facilities and fully equipped music rooms, as well as 5 different themed outdoor play areas during breaks.
