The Discovery House difference

How it Works

We’re building a combination of a CPD hub and class experience centre. Each day, for a week, free transport collects a class and their teacher and takes them to Discovery House. In the lead-up, a mentor is paired with the class teacher, and visits the class daily.

At the centre, the mentor initially leads the class, giving the teacher space to observe and refine their practice under expert guidance. The day follows a standard school schedule using the class’s current curriculum, enhanced by innovative teaching methods and exciting afternoon activities—including swimming, climbing, gardening in nature polytunnels, music, and sports.

As the week progresses, the teacher gets to put ideas into practice, developing their approach with their own children and iterating as they go.

The aim is to improve CPD, but also to give the children an incredible experience- there will be a swimming pool, climbing wall, sports facilities and fully equipped music rooms, as well as five different themed outdoor play areas during breaks.
